PassionWorks offers a variety of programs, including workshops and performances, that can be modified as retreats or single presentations. "An Irreverent Journey from Eggbeaters to Vibrators" (created and performed by Rev. Dr. Beverly Dale):
o Features thirteen female characters exploring an aspect of
their sexual past and identity.
o Incorporates music, song, and poetry to model the need for
guilt-free, faith-informed and sex-positive conversations.
o Stimulates and challenges the thinking and beliefs of
attendees to serve as an impetus for reflection on these
timely and important sexuality topics.
"Monologues" from "An Irreverent Journey" to address specific audience questions and concerns (The separate monologues can also be sequenced into a six-week series, which incorporates all of the themes presented in "An Irreverent Journey".):
o Promotes an environment for participants to pose difficult
questions using the safe venue of responding to a fictional
character.
o Provokes discussions on a variety of aspects of sexuality
including ethics, self-esteem, and decision-making,
pleasure, religious teaching, and morality.
o Encourages participants to reflect on their own experiences
and question or clarify their personal values.
"Experiential Workshops" (participants in conversations on sexuality):
o Creates a non-threatening environment to learn to talk about
sexuality in a mixed gender, same gender, same age or
intergenerational settings.
o Uses group and individual exercises for values clarification
of the participants.
o Assesses the depth of participants’ knowledge of male and
female sexuality as well as the extent of information about
possible resources.
o Identifes various sexual ethical approaches.
"Sex on Tap" (influence alcohol can have on sexual behavior):
o Identifies the ways alcohol misuse serves to justify
ill-advised sexual behaviors and possibly lead to negative
situations.
o Disseminates informational literature which describes the
campus environment (e.g. statistics on sexual behavior as
well as descriptions of situations in which they may find
themselves).
o Provides specific decision-making guidelines and criteria.
o Models a comfort level with sexuality teaching language.
"Pastoral Counseling/Spiritual Direction" (Beverly Dale):
o Provides short term counseling for individuals and couples.
o Addresses such topics as parental and relationship
difficulties, sexuality issues such as sexual orientation,
sexual ethics and sexual abuse, depression or spiritual
alienation, and strengthening one’s spiritual life and other
faith crises.
